Winter Break Visit to Athens

After a few days in Tennessee for Christmas, Liz, Greg, and I traveled back to Athens, Ohio, where I was able to visit with many of my old buddies from there. It was a great time, with plenty of food, drink, and Catch Phrase.

Christmas

I spent Christmas at my friend Greg's parents' house in Tennessee. It was a fabulous time filled with food and drink and general Christmas joy. I got lots of great, unexpected gifts. One of the highlights of the visit was participating in the traditional post-Christmas-dinner-cigar smoking. Mostly, though, it was just nice to spend time with my friends and Greg's warm, welcoming family.

Mormon Tabernacle Choir Christmas Concert

Thursday night the other interns and I went to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir Christmas Concert in Salt Lake City. It was really spectacular and the music was beautiful. They featured a famous saprano (Renee Fleming), who was really quite amazing. The show is going to be on PBS. Unfortunately, I could only take pictures with my phone, which has crappy resolution. It's too bad because the set was truly spectacular.

Logan Winter

It's REALLY COLD here right now! And we got snow recently, a couple of times, actually. The snow is nice, but if we could have that and 40 degrees or so, that would be great. Tomorrow night I am going to see the Mormon Tabernacle Choir Christmas Concert in Salt Lake City! I'm pretty excited about that. It's such a great opportunity. Dave, the counseling center psychologist who is a member of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir got us tickets for free. I've been listening to their Christmas CD for years. On Saturday, the other interns and I are talking about going skiing. There's good skiing about a half hour from here! Then I'm planning on going snowshoeing for the first time on Sunday with Diane. Should be good. I'll try to take some pictures. Here are a couple of pictures, one from today and one from the other day.
